The technique of our ground commanders was to isolate Iraqi units on the ground by slicing off their communications and supply routes, then take them out with a quick assault from their flanks which would be totally sudden. This strategy worked like a charm and resulted in a rout. The most significant single factor which led to the success of the ground war was most likely the air war which commenced six months prior to floor steps.
